It comes as no surprise to me, nor should it come as one to you, that December 6th is dedicated to hating men when the official Montreal Massacre narrative says all men are responsible for Gamil Gharbi’s actions.

Garbage.

This flies in the face of the facts spelled out by Montreal coroner Teresa Sourour in her report on the murders.

In past years I’ve written about the men who obediently left the room when ordered to do so by the deranged Muslim madman. Not one lifted a finger to stop Gharbi or protect the women who would ultimately fall to his bullets.

To this day, she blames guns and legal gun owners because Gharbi had a Firearm Acquisition Certificate (FAC). He purchased his guns and ammunition legally. To these genuinely concerned but deeply misguided people, all gun owners are just “murderers-in-waiting.”

Again, I call bullshit.

The questions Provost and her fellow travelers never ask about the Firearm Acquisition Certificate (FAC) system in place in 1989 are these:

• How could the system supposedly designed to prevent this kind of shooting be such a colossal failure?
• What police agency investigated Gamil Gharbi and failed to discover the myriad clues to his violent nature that every newspaper in the country found with ease?
• Why was nobody ever held responsible for the failure of the FAC system?

Fixing a broken system was never part of their plan.

It was never about holding anyone accountable for the FAC system’s colossal failure, just as it was (and is) never about holding Gharbi accountable for his heinous crimes.

It’s about doing the exact opposite of Marcus Aurelius’ sage advice almost 2,000 years ago.

Punish only he who committed the crime.

No, the annual hate-fest that is December 6th is about punishing everyone except those who committed the crime.

Madness.

I’ve reproduced the conclusion to Investigating Coroner Teresa Z. Sourour’s report below. For those who have never seen the coroner’s report or even heard of it, for that matter, don’t be surprised. It took 15 years to get it translated into English.

Note Ms. Sourour’s comments about firearms.

Gharbi killed himself long before police even entered the building. He was under no threat from anyone when he ended his own life.

 

CONCLUSION

As unfortunate as this event was, it was not an exceptional one from the perspective of the emergency services. An armed attack by a single person is, in itself, an event that the SPCUM must deal with on a regular basis.

Nonetheless, we must consider the sixty (60) unused bullets that Marc Lépine left at the scene when he decided to put an end to this terrible episode, although he was in no danger: no police assault was in progress or in any obvious state of preparation. Thank heaven, he decided on his own that enough was enough.

The issue of firearms control has intentionally not been addressed. With the unlimited ammunition and time that Marc Lépine had available to him, he would probably have been able to achieve similar results even with a conventional hunting weapon, which itself is readily accessible. On the other hand, the importance of the questions raised in respect of pre-hospital care and police emergency response are matters that are worthy of our full attention.

The deficiencies identified in relation to the emergency response call for us, in all good conscience, to give them serious thought, not so that we can assign responsibility to anyone in particular, but so that we can take corrective action to ensure that better protection is provided for human life.

Some of the questions stated in the preceding section do not require answers, since the answers are self-evident from the questions. Nonetheless, this does not mean that it is not worth acting on them, even though no formal recommendations are made.

There are numerous other questions, on the other hand, that it would be neither wise nor fair to try to answer without first hearing all of the people involved, particularly since the complexity of some elements means that various experts would have to be heard, and this was not the function of a Coroner’s investigation.

As anyone following the mewling cries of Windy Wendy Cukier and the vitriol spewing forth from Lying Heidi Rathjen is already aware, today, December 6th, is the day we remember an insane madman and the 14 women he murdered in his misogynistic rage.

Rathjen, in particular, has clearly gotten her knickers in a very big twist. Left-wing media outlets are, of course, helping fan the flames of her rage by giving her free and open access to their newspapers and television cameras.

Lest we actually forget that real people actually died on this fateful day in 1989, here are the names of the slain women for us all to remember:

These are the names that Windy Wendy and Lying Heidi never want us to forget, and that is commendable. We shouldn’t forget them.

We should also never forget the names Ian Bush, Robert Dziekanski and Orion Hutchinson either, but I don’t see any memorials being offered to the men murdered by RCMP members, do you?

Or how about Doreen LeClair, Corrine McKeown or Janice Kinna? They all died after 911 was called. LeClair and McKeown called 911 5 times and couldn’t get anyone to come to their aid. Janice Kinna died while police took their sweet time (over 30 minutes) getting to her home while she was being raped and murdered.

Where are the monuments to these men and women who died directly or indirectly because of the failure of police?

No, only to those murdered by a misogynistic mentally-deficient man of Islamic decent whose real name is Gamil Gharbi are deserving of memorials. While the mainstream media will never ever call him by that name, that was his legal birth name until just a year or two prior to venting his spleen so violently in Montreal’s L’Ecole Polytechnique.

I guess explicitly telling the world the lunatic who caused so much terror that fateful December day was Islamic would be bad PR for Islam.

It’s an odd thing, this obsession with hiding the truth about the man who, in his murderous rage and suicide, has dictated Canadian public policy for almost 20 years.

You’d think we would want to know the truth about the man who committed these heinous acts, but no, that’s not how “good Canadians” deal with things, is it?

Well, it should be.

We should also be willing to spell out the cold, hard and sometimes brutal truth of that day so the entire world never forgets, and more importantly, learns the lesson paid for with the lives of the 14 women listed above.

The cold hard truth that Windy Wendy and Lying Heidi steadfastly refuse to acknowledge is that firearm registration doesn’t do a thing to keep anyone safe.

Tracking the every move of society’s most law-abiding people, statistically, is an exercise in gross stupidity and is the worst possible public policy.

The Firearms Act has been a colossal failure on every front.

• We have turned the most law-abiding people in Canada into “paper” criminals.
• We have broken the bond between Canada’s most law-abiding citizens and the police.
• The Suicide rate in Canada hasn’t been affected at all. Suicides by firearm may be down, but the rise in hanging suicides well outpaces any decline in the firearm suicide rate.
• We have wasted over 2 BILLION dollars of taxpayers’ money to keep tabs on the people who are, by definition, law-abiding. Why else would they be in the registry in the first place???
• We have violated the Charter Rights of millions of Canadians because they happen to own firearms.

Welfare recipients, pedophiles and rapists have more rights under Canadian law than firearms owners do. How does that make any rational sense?

We can’t ask welfare recipients to prove they aren’t taking drugs before giving them public money because that’s a violation of their rights, but we can ask the most intrusive questions imaginable about every single firearm owner in Canada and that is NOT a violation of their rights.

Really?

Firearm owners aren’t asking for anything from society at large other than, perhaps, to simply be left alone.

In 2008 I wrote about the men who were trapped inside with Gamil Gharbi as he went on his murderous rampage. The article was titled “Montreal Massacre: Alternate Endings”, and is well worth the read again this year.

In that article I asked a few questions about the root of the problem on December 6, 1989.

Was it the failure of mental health officials? I doubt it. We did not have “thought police” in 1989 (and thankfully do not today either), and until this event, Mr. Gharbi apparently didn’t exhibit much in the way of abnormal psychology.

Was it the failure of police responding to the scene? Ms. Sourour said yes. I disagree. Sure, they formed a perimeter and sat outside waiting until Gharbi offed himself, but that is not the root cause of the high death toll.

The failure that day was with our manhood. Or more to the point, our lack of one. For thirty years or more, men had been “trained” to be obedient, to do what they’re told, to be more “feminine”, less “manly”.

So they did exactly what the lunatic with the gun said. They abandoned their sisters to a sure and horrific death.

They left the room.

You’ll have to read my entire 2008 article for the rest of the premise. Suffice it to say if a 17-year-old Boy Scout can take down an armed shooter in a high school classroom, surely grown men could have taken down Gamil Gharbi. If, that is, they had the backbone of a 15-year-old American Boy Scout in 1998, which they clearly did not.

But back to the point of my article…

Windy Wendy Cukier and Lying Heidi Rathjen continue to fan the flames of emotionalism and hatred against law-abiding firearm owners.

Canada’s law-abiding firearm owners are NOT the problem.

Canada’s law-abiding firearm owners didn’t kill anyone yesterday.

Canada’s law-abiding firearm owners didn’t kill anyone today.

Canada’s law-abiding firearm owners are not going to kill anyone tomorrow either.

Not even if the law no longer requires us to register our rifles and shotguns.

Deal with it, Wendy Cukier.

And Heidi Rathjen, just get over yourself already.

Believe it or not, we Canadians, both politicians and gun owners, can oppose bad law and still honour the 14 murdered women whose names lead off this article.

You want to save women’s lives? Stop shoveling $100 million a year down the toilet and spend that money on educating people instead.

Or how about using some of that money for tracking violent offenders, rapists and child molesters?

Oh yeah, I forgot… that would be a violation of their civil rights.
