It’s a pity Liberal MP Roger Cuzner doens’t have the courage to vote the will of his constituents. Note his parroting of Ignatief’s line “a non-criminal ticketing offense”. As Katey Montague says in her latest video, Ignatief doesn’t want to send you to jail, at least not the first time. He’d rather steal your money (fine you) instead.

SYDNEY, N.S. – A Liberal MP from Nova Scotia says he won’t stand down from his support of the controversial long-gun registry despite calls to do so from a municipality in his rural constituency.
Earlier this month, the Municipality of the District of Guysborough passed a council motion calling on Rodger Cuzner to break ranks with the Liberal party.
The motion called on Cuzner to vote in favour of a Conservative MP’s private member’s bill to kill the registry.
But Cuzner said the Liberal position is clearly defined.
He said changes to the registry introduced by his party would make a first-time failure to register a firearm a summary offence, or a non-criminal ticketing offence.
Manitoba Conservative MP Candice Hoeppner praised Guysborough council in a statement, saying she commended the municipality for “taking a stand” by supporting her bill to end the registry.
“In their opinion, and in mine, it’s time to end the wasteful and ineffective long-gun registry and put more emphasis on policing and licensing of firearms,” she said.
During the last session of Parliament, the bill passed second reading 164-137 in a House vote with support from 18 Liberals and New Democrats.
