Bruce Montague’s Constitutional Challenge Rejected by Supreme Court of Canada

Published September 16, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act

Today the Supreme Court of Canada announced they will not hear Bruce Montague's appeal. This does not mean the Montague's legal troubles are over, however.  Still outstanding is the Ontario Provincial Government's threat to take the Montague family home under Ontario's Proceeds of Crime Act.  They were "kind" enough, in their letter threatening the house seizure, to allow … [Read more...]

The Long Gun Registry Debate

Published September 16, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act

by Phil Hewkin All the hyperbole and rhetoric, deception and corruption aside, from one guy who actually is not too lazy to read what the law states in the "Criminal code of Canada", all I can say, is, if YOU haven't taken the time to read these laws, "the Firearms Act" and, the section called, "Firearms and other weapons" as I have, PLEASE kindly SHUT the HELL UP! My own … [Read more...]

NDP MPs Under Fire

Published September 12, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act, Political Antics

While NDP party leader Jack Layton does the right thing (allowing a free vote on Candice Hoeppner's private member's Bill C-391), Liberal party leader Michael Ignatieff declares war on two NDP MPs. Niki Ashton (Churchill) and Malcolm Allen (Welland) are the two MPs that Ignatieff believes are the key to ending Bill C-391.  In a post on the Liberal party website, Ignatieff … [Read more...]

Larry Bagnell: Another Spineless Liberal MP

Published September 10, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Political Antics, Stupid Human Tricks

Yukon's Liberal MP Larry Bagnell is feeling stuck between a rock and a hard place.  His rural riding is filled with hunters, miners, prospectors and outdoors people. When asked if he would avoid the House instead of voting against his constituents, Bagnell said "I’m not sure, I haven’t explored that possibility to see if that’s an option".   He's got to ask Iggy's permission … [Read more...]

Wayne Easter: Your Rep to Ottawa? Or Ottawa’s Rep to You?

Published September 9, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Gun Politics, Political Antics

Liberal MP Wayne Easter's website begins with promise. "I am committed to bringing your voice to Ottawa, by ensuring your concerns are heard and working with you to create opportunities for growth in our province." He forgot to add the end of the sentence though.... "but only if I agree with you." Otherwise, he's just one more politician bringing Ottawa's voice to … [Read more...]

Jack Layton Showing Integrity???

Published September 3, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Gun Politics, Political Antics

Anyone who knows me knows I'm no fan of Jack Layton's.  I think he's an opportunistic man who will do almost anything to get in front of a TV camera.  So his stand on "allowing" a free vote on Bill C-391 is very surprising to me. It's no secret that old Jack is anti-gun.  If he had his way he'd ban them all in a heartbeat.  Good thing he doesn't get his way, if you're a gun … [Read more...]

Jack Layton “under fire”

Published September 2, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act, Political Antics

Jack Layton is under a lot of heat to get his members of parliament in line with party policy.  Unfortunately for Jack, those rural riding members want to actually get re-elected.  Most won their seats by less than 2,000 votes, some substantially less, so listening to their constituents when it comes to "gun control" means the difference between getting elected or being forced … [Read more...]

It’s about People Control, not Gun Control…

Published September 1, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act, Political Antics

I can't say it any better than Garry Breitkreuz already did, so here's his editorial... The registry isn't about reducing crime. It's about public control. The media war over the hotly contested long-gun registry is in full swing, and it isn’t pretty. The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) is lobbying hard to keep our tax dollars flowing into the black hole … [Read more...]

communist broadcasting corp (CBC) at it again…

Published August 29, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act, Gun Politics

The CBC (aka communist broadcasting corporation) is demanding we save Canada's failed gun registry.  Their reasons are simple enough... the RCMP says it's an important tool.  They quote a line from the unreleased report that says: The program, as a whole, is an important tool for law enforcement. It also serves to increase accountability of firearm owners for their … [Read more...]

Katey Montague is doing a little fundraising

Published August 29, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Guns

Katey Montague, the bright young lady whose YouTube videos helped her father raise over $250,000 in legal fees for his Constitutional Challenge, is embarking on a new venture and is looking for some financial assistance.  Her new website, KateysFirearmsFacts.com, is her launchpad for educating Canadians about all their Rights and Freedoms and providing tools to more effectively … [Read more...]

“Don’t Blame ME!” cries Jack Layton

Published August 24, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act, Political Antics

Recently there are a lot of news reports focusing on NDP leader Jack Layton and his position on Candice Hoeppner's Bill C-391 to scrap Canada's long gun registry. Jack's primary concern is that Canadians not blame him or his party if the long gun registry is scrapped. What he's REALLY concerned about, however, is getting his urban MPs re-elected.  Urban votes. He really … [Read more...]

Canada’s (In)Effective Gun Laws

Published August 22, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Canada's Firearms Act, Violent Criminals

In yet another stunning example of the ineptness of Canada's Firearms Act comes a news report out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. 20-year-old Jeremy Kyle St. Germain was arrested on August 7th, after managing to get himself shot. Jeremy is a career criminal with a firearms prohibition order in place. Despite his violent criminal past, police do not check up on him, his home is not … [Read more...]

First Deadline for Hoeppner’s Bill C-391

Published August 15, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Political Antics

September 22, 2010. That's the date Parliament will vote on Liberal MP Mark Holland's motion that the Public Safety Committee "does not proceed further with Bill C-391". That is also the deadline for talking to your MP and demanding they vote AGAINST that motion, so that Bill C-391 can come to the floor of Parliament and get voted on, without more Liberal … [Read more...]

Preview of Canada’s Next Steps in Gun Control

Published August 11, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Gun Politics, Political Antics, Stupid Human Tricks

Australia spent hundreds of millions of dollars to buy back firearms in the mid-90's.  Like all do-gooder projects, the government felt this would keep guns out of the hands of criminals.  Like all do-gooder legislation that's not been properly thought through, it's been a massive failure. Never ones to give up hope, however, the current government of Queensland has decided … [Read more...]

Government Soldiers Murder More Citizens

Published August 9, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Abuse of Police Authority, Violent Criminals

Whenever anyone says that guns in the hands of civilians are a problem, I wonder if they live very sheltered lives.  Here in North America we truly do exist in a vacuum.  We think that the world's problems cannot reach us, despite 9/11 and other atrocities proving that head-in-the-sand attitude quite wrong. In Columbia some kids were getting sick from the drinking water.  … [Read more...]

Britain’s Handgun Ban Fails Again

Published August 6, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Violent Criminals

On July 31st an interesting news story came out of Britain. A college student was found with a handgun at London's Kingston College. Adamo Kizey, 18, was found with a handgun and loaded magazine.  The police seized the handgun and the magazine, then took the young man back to his home, which they then proceeded to search. The search resulted in some marijuana and weigh … [Read more...]

Council of Guysborough, NS — SHUT UP!

Published August 3, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Gun Politics, Political Antics

Greg Vandermeulen's August 1st diatribe "Municipal support for MP's bill is wrong" is, well, wrong.  Greg is all upset because the good folks on Guysborough passed a resolution demanding their MP support Candice Hoeppner's Private Members Bill C-391 when it comes up for third reading later this year. He says they've overstepped their bounds. He also states "Nobody with a … [Read more...]

Chicago’s Moronic Mayor Daley

Published August 3, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Gun Politics, Political Antics

Now here is a a guy that just plain doesn't get it. Chicago is one of the major US cities that has banned handguns from honest citizens because thugs and gang members control entire sections of the city through violence and murder. He blames the honest citizens of Chicago for the actions of violent criminals. Typical. Sounds so very... Canadian. Chicago's high … [Read more...]

Congratulate Guysborough, NS City Council

Published July 30, 2010 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Gun Politics

It's a pity Liberal MP Roger Cuzner doens't have the courage to vote the will of his constituents. Note his parroting of Ignatief's line "a non-criminal ticketing offense".  As Katey Montague says in her latest video, Ignatief doesn't want to send you to jail, at least not the first time. He'd rather steal your money (fine you) instead. … [Read more...]
