I almost peed my pants this afternoon when I checked the ranking for my book "Justin Trudeau: 47 Character-Revealing Quotes from Canada's 23rd Prime Minister and What They Mean for You." When I saw my book sitting in the #1 spot in its category I almost fell out of my chair. While confident that I could reach that spot eventually, I had no idea my book would achieve that … [Read more...]

Asking a Question in English is an Attack on French Language Rights
I had no intention of revisiting this topic but as I wandered through the snow outside my mountain home I realized I missed the most important point of what Justin Trudeau said. His first thought was not to say, 'Gee, you're right. I screwed up. It was rude of me not to answer the question in English.' His first thought was to attack anyone who dared question his elitist, … [Read more...]
Justin Trudeau: Inclusive Really Means to Exclude
Justin Trudeau is all about open, inclusive government, or so he claims at every opportunity. On January 17th his commitment to inclusiveness revealed itself for what it really is, one more political affectation. On January 17, at a town hall in Sherbrooke, Quebec, an English-speaking Canadian asked our Prime Minister a question. Common courtesy is to answer in the … [Read more...]
Integrity, Les Kaminski and the Calgary Police Association
Rough times for the Calgary Police Service continue. Their integrity deficit shows no sign of letting up, either. Calgary Police Association President Les Kaminski and Constable Brand Derrick both face charges as a result of an Alberta Serious Incident Response Team investigation. Les Kaminski faces charges of assault and purjury. Constable Brant … [Read more...]
My Justin Trudeau Book Hits #2 on Amazon Bestseller List
My Justin Trudeau book hit #2 on Amazon's bestseller list today. Gotta say, that feels pretty darned good. It's exactly the kick I needed to push to the finish on my book about Justin Trudeau's most favoured immigrant, Maryam Monsef. That book is coming along well but my end of January deadline is also fast approaching. One of the very best things about writing is seeing … [Read more...]

Firearm Owners: Guess who CPIC Tracks and who CPIC does NOT track daily?
Dennis Young, master of the Access to Information Program (ATIP), learned something interesting on June 7, 2016, that ought to shock and scare every single licenced gun owner in Canada. Dennis asked what information about violent criminals is held in the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC). Britain’s Investigatory Powers Act Violates Privacy, Demands Back Door to Encryption
In late November Britain's Investigatory Powers Act 2016 became law. For many years the British government demanded information from telecommunications companies without legal basis. Britain's Home Secretary Theresa May admitted the British government has long abused section 94 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 for this exact purpose. The legal basis now exists but this … [Read more...]
Muslim Rapist claims sexual emergency, wins appeal
Austrian courts now side with rapists over rape victims. The court's rationale for overturning the sentence is ridiculous. They say prosecutors did not prove the 20-year-old rapist understood that the 10-year-old boy's screamed "No!" I suppose the boy's screams of agony weren't a clue. In the rapist's mind screams of agony mean "More please!" not "Stop!" The original … [Read more...]
