Enumclaw is a small community (population 10,699) located roughly 45 miles southeast of Seattle, Washington, and is known as the gateway to Mount Rainer National Park. To quote the City of Enumclaw website:
Enumclaw has a current population of 10,669 with retail service, medical, cultural, educational and recreational facilities for convenience and enjoyment. Our City is within one hour of any activity imaginable: skiing, hiking, beaches, professional sports, and big city culture.
Assistant Pastor Malcolm John Fraser has been charged with two counts of first degree child rape after police investigated reports dating back to 2005 and 2006.
According to charging papers made public Thursday, Fraser is alleged to have had repeated sexual contacts with a girl during 2005 and 2006. While it was noted intercourse did not occur, other sex acts have been alleged. Papers filed by the King County Prosecutor’s Office state that Fraser forced the young girl to engage in certain sex acts.
Sexually violating the trust of a child is one of the most heinous crimes imaginable. It is even more heinous when the violator is supposedly a Godly man, as in the case of Assistant Pastor Malcolm John Fraser of Enumclaw, Washington.
The primary complainant in the case is now 17 years old, and would have been only 10 years old when Fraser’s [alleged] sexual abuse began. During the time frame in question (2005-06) Malcom Fraser lived with the family of the girl.
I find it very ironic and more than a little horrifying that the name of the church where the [alleged] pedophile ministered is named Sound Doctrine Church, since this Malcolm Fraser clearly wasn’t paying attention to his Bible or any of its sound doctrines. Nowhere in the Bible is sexually molesting children acceptable.
People abusing their position of trust is horrific and much to my dismay I’ve been writing about a few of these cases recently. First it was former Shreveport, LA Assistant City Administrator Richard Seaton who was convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman after a football game, then it was former Manitoba Dr. Mohamed Kadirsahib fondling his female patients at length, and now an assistant pastor of a church.
Perhaps Malcolm Fraser and everyone at the Sound Doctrine Church ought to review the Doctrine of Depravity.
John Calvin’s Five Points of Calvinism center around the Doctrine of Total Depravity, and it is no coincidence that it is the first of his famed Five Points of Calvinism.
The doctrine of Total Depravity is derived from scriptures that reveal human character: Man’s heart is evil (Mark 7:21-23) and sick (Jer. 17:9). Man is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:20). He does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12). He cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14). He is at enmity with God (Eph. 2:15). And, is by nature a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3).
Malcolm Fraser, it would appear, needs to reacquaint himself with these Biblical truths. And that’s advice that, perhaps, the rest of us ought to heed as well…
Kenneth G Ryan says
Hold off here a bit Christopher!! Give the SOB’s congegation an attempt to defend him by saying how caring a fellow he really is and that he should receive special treatment!
There is some of this which society simply will not accept as cold hard fact, and deal with it as they would murder or very similar. Rape and molestation by parents is just as serious and as I get older I hear more and more older women claiming this of their Father. It’s been rampant but hushed up. I really think many mothers knew of this taking place but for material reasons or fear, the hushed up. I sometimes wonder the same of church members. Not all Christians go to church and we should know by now, not all Christian Church attendees are Christians.
Unfortunately I’m sure the same can be said of other religions.
