Toronto City Councillor and all-around idiot Adam Vaughn must be just about wetting himself at the thought of being able to send decent Canadians to prison for the heinous “crime” of owning a legal product, namely ammunition.
No doubt Vaughn’s inspiration for his blatantly stupid bylaw proposal to outlaw ammunition in Toronto comes from that great bastion of stupid gun laws, Washington, DC. There officials have managed to screw things up so badly they’ve charged former Army Specialist Adam Meckler for the “crime” of having “unregistered ammunition”.
Adam Meckler isn’t some lunatic wanting to kill anyone. He’s a veteran who has served his nation faithfully in both Afghanistan and Iraq. How is he repaid for that good and faithful service? He’s treated like a criminal in his own country.
It’s as disgusting as it is absurd.
To quote Emily Miller’s column in the Washington Times:
There is no legitimate public safety reason for criminalizing ammunition possession. It only serves to punish law-abiding gun owners doing normal activities, such as what happened to Spc. Meckler.
Meckler did not have a firearm, just some spare rounds of ammunition left over from a recent trip to the range. He was attempting to provide Veterans Affairs with information they required about his medical records when he was treated as though he was about to detonate a bomb inside the White House!
“I was thinking, what is in my bag? I thought, there is no way it’s a gun, all my guns are locked up. I’d made sure there were no knives in the bag.”
Naturally his explanation of what had happened fell on deaf ears. Nobody cared.
Now this loving father of two, this true American patriot has a criminal record that will follow him the rest of his life.
All because some moron decided ammunition should be illegal.
Army Specialist Adam Meckler was just 15 days out of active duty when this occurred. He’d been in Iraq dealing with insurgents, weapons caches and people actually trying to kill him and his fellow soldiers. The greatest danger his few rounds of 9mm ammunition had was to himself. He couldn’t actually have hurt anyone with them even if he wanted to, which he did not.
Adam Meckler was treated like a terrorist in his own country’s capital city and for what? A few rounds of 9mm ammunition?
Does that make any rational sense at all?
Only to morons like Toronto City Councillor Adam Vaughn, who just can’t wait to do the same thing to Canadian military veterans and regular Canadian citizens alike in the city of Toronto.
God help us all if this buffoon’s wet dream becomes reality.

Nice Post Christopher,
Yes we are in trouble if the fanatical leftists get their way as they are pushing for in Toronto.
Who knew that the abolishing of the Gun Registry would result in the emergence of a virtual cottage industry of Liberals seeking a backdoor to the criminalization of law abiding gun owners….oh well…band together and put this asshole in his place….funny thing is its served the other purpose Vaughan sought to achieve, namely giving himself, a no-name obscure little bureaucratic worm, a bit of national press…
As for the soldier, Adam Meckler, suffering the indignities of a criminal record….I say too bad….personally it is becoming obvious that a criminal record is a sign of a refusal to suffer the yolk and shackles of leftist sensibilities……certainly wouldn’t keep Meckler and any member of his family from gracing my dinner table both as a guest and a friend…..all while the vast majority of overzealous law enforcement, judiciary and bureaucrats stood outside in the rain….where they belong…
