I’m shocked. Utterly shocked.
Yeah, like the whole world didn’t see this coming. Despite having video footage and a ton of other information, no one is able to identify any of the cops that swarmed and beat the crap out of Adam Nobody during last year’s G20 riots.
Is it just me, or are you disgusted with both the Toronto Police Service and the Ontario Special Investigations Unit?
First, it was the thugs with badges beating the crap out of anyone who looked at them the wrong way (and plenty who didn’t look at them at all). Then the denials from Toronto’s top cop Bill Blair saying that his men had done nothing wrong.
Now it’s the people who are actually supposed to get to the bottom of police brutality cases like this doing nothing more than wringing their hands and saying, “Gee, we can’t get anyone to identify anyone.”
If the shoe were on the other foot, the police would be pulling out all the stops trying to identify the thugs. Facial recognition software would be brought in and compared with every single mug shot in existence, but since it’s cops who are on the hook for their brutality, it seems none of this technology applies.
Must be nice to be untouchable.
The first article addressed the fact he was actually getting charged with assault with a weapon after being caught on film beating up a protester who was just trying to get away from him. The second piece chronicled the tales of two very different men, one the year before the G20 and the one we’ve all come to know from the G20 news reports and pictures.
He’s about the only guy getting hung out to dry, while every other member of the police who acted like such thugs gets a pass.
Makes me wonder who Constable Andalib-Goortani pissed off up that good old chain of command…
