Is it a crime to believe you should actually abide by the oath you took to defend the Constitution?
The US government says a resounding YES!
Take the case of Oath Keepers… a group of current soldiers, veterans, firefighters and police officers who actually have the audacity to believe in the oath they took to “support and defend the Constitution“.
Just who do these folks think they are? What makes them believe they can actually take their oaths seriously? Politicians don’t, so why should these mere mortal men and women?
The Declaration of Independence is a very simple document. It’s a short document, just a single page long. What is a crime is that almost no elected official in the US Federal government has ever even read it. The United States Constitution is only 20 pages long.
What is an abomination is that our elected representatives have the gall to be upset at having the Declaration of Independence read aloud in the House!
The Declaration of Independence should be REQUIRED to be read aloud DAILY, at every level of government, from city hall to both the House and Senate at the state and federal level.
Each member of every level of government should be required to take their turn reading it aloud, and when they’ve each read it aloud once, repeat. Every single day.
Perhaps them we would have a government that would comprehend why so many of the peasant class… we mere citizens… are so pissed off.
It’s certainly no surprise that our politicians don’t actually read the legislation they pass… if they’re not willing to read a single-page document, the Declaration of Independence, or the 20-page United States Constitution, they’re sure not going to read a thousand page bill and all its amendments.
This is why a group like Oath Keepers gets founded in the first place. People who believe in their country, believe in their Constitution and believe in the Oaths they take to protect and defend that Constitution are fed up.
It’s also no wonder that the armed thugs of the State label these people “domestic terrorists” or “right-wing extremists”. It’s really not.
The mainstream media are, pathetically, nothing but lemmings. There is almost no critical thinking or factual reporting. Press releases from governments at all levels are printed verbatim and without a single thought to their content.
Lemmings.
I have a lot of respect for the men and women of Oath Keepers. They have integrity and honour, two things sadly lacking in governments the world over, to be sure, but never more lacking than in Obama’s bastardized White House.
After Bill Clinton I thought it would be at least a generation before we saw another American President with absolutely no moral center. I could not have been more wrong. As strange as it may seem, Barack Hussein Obama actually manages to make Bill Clinton look like a good and decent man by comparison.
That is truly frightening, because when men with no moral center hold the highest political office in the land, there is no safety or security for anyone except, perhaps, “the chosen few.”
We the People are left defenseless and at their mercy.
I spent a little time on the Oath Keepers website tonight because I was curious to see why the government and mainstream media hate them so much. (http://oathkeepers.org)
What an absolute treat to read about men and women who know exactly what they believe in, and are committed to defending those beliefs against their own tyrannical government.
What? You say the US Government is NOT tyrannical?
While I could ask you literally a hundred variations of this question, each one citing a different case of government abuse, I’ll simply ask you this:
What else do you call a government that calls in SWAT teams to remove crowds of unarmed and peaceful people from the Thomas Jefferson Memorial because these people dare point out the absurdity of the US Court of Appeals decision that makes dancing silently inside the Jefferson Memorial a crime, the same as protesting, demonstrating or speech-making.
SWAT Teams?
Is this some perverted version of the movie Footloose?
What is the US Government so afraid of that it needs to take highly trained men, arm them with machine guns and set them loose on unarmed civilians who want to “dance silently” as their expression of displeasure with government oppression?
These people are absolutely no threat physically. They didn’t resist your violent arrests a week ago, but they do refuse to be silent in the face of this oppression.
That is where the true danger lies though, doesn’t it? A free people asking intelligent questions and demanding to know the answer to those questions and who will not blindly obey orders is obviously a very dangerous thing.
One Simple Question
Where would the United States be today if over 200 years ago men were muzzled from speaking their minds and expressing themselves to their fellow man?
Where would the United States be today without a Thomas Jefferson, a Patrick Henry or a Thomas Paine?
Yet that is exactly the type of world the current United States Government wants, isn’t it?
Our world has become one of “Rules are More Important than People.” Stupid rules are paramount, and blind obedience to them is demanded at the muzzle of a machine gun. What country is this? I seem to be confusing it with one from the mid-20th century…
Is a peaceful group of unarmed people expressing displeasure with their government inside (or outside) of the Jefferson Memorial really that terrifying to the United States Government?
Given Saturday’s armed response, the answer to that question is a resounding YES.
But it doesn’t answer the more pressing question of WHY?
As Katey Montague wrote here the other day,
On May 29th a group of people opposed to this ruling gathered at the Jefferson Memorial and were silently dancing. They were told by Park Services that if they danced they would be arrested. However when asked what law they would be arrested for violating the Park Services Official refused to answer by taunting them saying, “You’ll find out.”
You’ll find out?
This is simply Official United States Government Thuggery in action.
It was a simple question, asked politely. It deserved a polite response. Instead it got a high-and-mighty “You’ll Find Out.”
I watched the video of a small group of unarmed individuals peacefully swaying back and forth.
This so offended US Parks Police that they violently threw people to the ground and handcuffed them, and in one case choked a man because he refused to be silent about these abusive police tactics.
Are these members of the US Parks Police abiding by their oath to “support and defend the Constitution“?
No, of course not.
Have they ever even read that document?
I think not, for if they had they would not be acting like such thugs inside the monument created to honour the man who valued Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression above almost anything else.
The Rules are More Important Than People.
The Oath Keepers movement has a Declaration of Orders We Will Not Obey. It is an amazing document that lists a series of orders they will, when asked, refuse to obey.
You can read the entire list and their rationale for each one on the Oath Keepers website (highly recommended), but here I’ll simply list those orders:
1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people.
2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects — such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons.
3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as ‘unlawful enemy combatants’ or to subject them to trial by military tribunal.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a ‘state of emergency’ on a state, or to enter with force into a state, without the express consent and invitation of that state’s legislature and governor.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty and declares the national government to be in violation of the compact by which that state entered the Union.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to ‘keep the peace’ or to ‘maintain control’ during any emergency, or under any other pretext. We will consider such use of foreign troops against our people to be an invasion and an act of war.
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.
10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.
“The above list is not exhaustive but we do consider them to be clear tripwires “ they form our ‘line in the sand’, and if we receive such orders, we will not obey them. Further, we will know that the time for another American Revolution is nigh. If you the people decide that you have no recourse, and such a revolution comes, at that time, not only will we NOT fire upon our fellow Americans who righteously resist such egregious violations of their God given rights, we will join them in fighting against those who dare attempt to enslave them.”
No wonder the US Government and the mainstream media find Oath Keepers to be such a terrifying threat.
If you, like the Oath Keepers, have drawn your line in the sand along these same lines, then you too might be labeled a “right-wing extremist” or “home-grown terrorist”.
To quote Richard Stevens, author of Dial 911 and Die,
“Clearly the world has turned upside down.”
