“I’m from the government and I’m here to help” is an oxymoron of the highest order.
When any government claims they’re here to help you, check your pockets to make sure your wallet is still there.
When this Liberal government says it cares about your mental health – a problem they intentionally manufactured with two straight years of 24×7 COVID fear porn – you know the opposite is true.
So, my gun owning friends, if you value your Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) or your Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (RPAL), avoid the government of Canada’s Pocketwell app like the plague.
“This app offers free support for mental health and substance use concerns, funded by the Government of Canada,” says the app’s download page.
The fact this app is promoted by Justin Trudeau personally should be all the warning you need.
Am I saying this app is designed specifically to target gun owners?
Nope. Not for a second.
I am saying the PocketWell App is one more tool this Liberal government will use against you simply because it can.
I’m all for mental health and for people getting the help they need.
In fact, that’s precisely why I created The 2-Minute Freedom Challenge – to help my family, my friends and the people I care about most learn how to use gratitude, love, joy and compassion to overcome all the fear, shame, isolation and division our government bombards us with daily.
But the government’s Pocketwell app – more specifically the data collected by the government’s Pocketwell app – will be used against you when it comes time to renew your PAL or RPAL.
Bill C-71 gave the RCMP the power to review your entire life history, including your posts on social media and any other means available to the government (like data from this app), when it comes time to renew your firearms license.
If you believe the government of Canada will not use this information against you, well, my first encouragement is for you to open your eyes to what’s going on all around you.
My second encouragement is for you to watch any of my 2-Minute Freedom Challenge videos and do what I suggest.
If you are a licensed firearm owner in need of assistance, there are a multitude of options open to you that don’t include installing a government monitoring device on your phone.
- Use those local options, if you need help.
- Reach out to a friend.
- Let someone you trust know you’re struggling.
But do not trust this Liberal government to have your best interests at heart.
If the past two years have proven anything, it’s that Justin Trudeau and this Liberal government hates you, hates your guns and will do anything to remove them from your hands.
This Liberal government refuses to fix our broken Firearm Prohibition Order system, as evidenced by the 34 repeat offenders were arrested charged with 77 counts of violating an existing Firearm Prohibition Order so far in January 2022.
This Liberal government reduced criminal penalties for violent criminals committing offences with illegally-possessed guns – while insisting licensed firearm owners and their legally-owned guns are the problem.

Good morning Christopher,
Not only the Liberals hate gunowners, more specifically all guns in circulation [other than police or military]… well the NDP party federally, and to a large degree the BC NDP too.
When word of C-71 intent reached my ears a couple years back, I started mailing and a few phone calls to my MLA, and the Environment/Lands minister, the federal NDP big boys, and told them of my very real concerns.
The NDP is supposed to be a champion of health care and health care workers, however they seem to be confused and don’t understand that many health care workers, such as I, hunt and hike and fish and recreate in our spacious province, own guns, and that the nature of our career is very stressful, and especially so these past two years. Staffing shortages across the board, cost of living ballooning, injury rates in the top-4 of all work categories, high transition rates and inability to rehire, and now some of us old-timers are lingering on longer than we want to.
I told them them very clearly that many of us cannot opt for employee/employer wellness programs, stress leave, mental health counselling, because of the very nature of C-71 coming back to bite us in the gluteus maximus. An added stress and hardship for many that also rely on food harvesting and recreation as a way of life… the NDP is/was to be standing up for the common guy.
I personally know of one ex-colleague that quit because of the stress in the workplace and implications of C-71 and the impact that could have on her and her husband’s very active hunting lifestyle if she chose a stress leave. Around here, those of us that enjoy a firearms lifestyle seldom let on about it with our work colleagues… so much bias and ignorance exist.
Instead the NDP vigorously stand alongside the liberals in HOC and answer me that this “is a divisive issue they don’t want to get involved in”.
As a side note, being a healthcare worker over three decades now, I have had many colleagues, mostly female of course in this profession, that are married to RCMP. RCMP move around quite often, so its advantageous that they are married to someone in health care with a transferable skill.. and of course they too experience and witness many of the workplace hardships and stressors that unfortunately come with the job. An officer trying to push this C-71 onto a suffering worker with a PAL would have to be a heartless being.
And unlike most RCMP or other career professionals, a large segment of healthcare workers Must watch our residents, patients, die throughout our life-career, that is a thing almost no other profession has to do or live with with, and this C-71 is a roadblock to seeking wellbeing and inner help. We nurture life and see people off into death. Moms , dads, daughters and sons, all people.
Shame on NDP and Liberals and Bloc.

Well said, Peter. These are the unintended (and intended) consequences of shaming an identifiable group of people.
Shame on them indeed.

Hi Christopher. Your advice to not use this app, is probably a good idea for techies, but a lot of us older types don’t mess with such things much anyway.
I had my daughter remove most the apps on my supposed “smart” phone a long while back. (because I had no clue how to do it lol) I didn’t want a lot of useless crap on the phone that I wouldn’t use anyway. I use my phone for… wait for it….phone calls. I text a little, and occasionally use the camera and the calculator, and that’s about it.
I have it to keep in touch with my son in England, and my daughter over on Vancouver Island. If they were not in my life, I wouldn’t even bother with the dang thing. The fact that we can be individually tracked via these things if they desire, does also concern me.
With regard to Trudeau’s attack on us firearm owners, I may have mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. I believe there is a symbiotic relationship between criminals and government. Rampant crime keeps Joe public fearful and therefore more compliant to government control.
When a government is planning something most citizens might object to, there is always the concern of citizen push back. If the govt does something really oppressive, there is always the possibility of unrest up to and including civil war.
This I believe is why the Govt is opposed to the citizenry owning firearms, because if things got bad enough, they fear that we, the most lawful segment of our society, would be using our firearms against them, and perhaps giving our spare guns to our neighbors. For they know they cannot control an armed population without their agreement and consent.
This same issue is even a larger problem in the US. The WEF globalists will never complete their “post national” agenda when lawful citizens legally own firearms. Incrementally raising the barriers to legal firearm ownership is less volatile than a full on immediate ban, and more likely to be successful.
The question then, is what are western governments planning, that might require them to be concerned about push back from their own citizens? There could be a myriad number of answers, but I leave those up to you and others to consider. Perhaps I have my tin foil hat on sideways, but these days a lot of the original conspiracy theories are becoming fact, and are requiring replacement with new ones to “needlessly” worry over.
We certainly live in interesting times, of that, there is no doubt.
Christopher di Armani says
Gerry, I don’t think your tinfoil hat is on crooked. I saw a meme yesterday that said:
“What’s the difference between a conspiracy theory and fact?”
“About three months.”
Frighteningly true these days.
Arie Intveld says
Gerry,
I agree with Christopher … you must be wearing your tinfoil hat properly because it is serving you well in postulating why Western governments obsess about civilian disarmament.
And you are correct about the relationship between criminals and government (the other criminals). It’s a partnership. Government offers violent criminals the Disney tour of our criminal (in)justice system and, in turn, the government benefits from violent criminals by using the fear of further street violence to justify their civilian disarmament agenda.
Consider this …
There is a reason why governments are committed to disarming their citizens. They strive to maintain their monopoly of violence, no matter what. The idea of an armed citizenry is anathema to most politicians, regardless of political stripe. After all, what’s a monopoly for, if not to be used? Hence the well-established mindset that only police and military “need” guns.
History has proven repeatedly that civil disarmament is always a precursor to abhorrent wholesale loss of human life.
FACT: Mass murder and genocide happen because of gun control, not because of a lack of gun control.
There is only one thing that government can do better and more efficiently than the private sector. And that one thing is “mass termination with extreme prejudice”.
This time around (2020-2021), government started their eradication of “undesirables” in long-term care facilities and hospitals (low hanging fruit). Their program is now escalating to deal with the more able-bodied enemies of the State, all with the help and compliance from the propaganda-addled mob.
Make no mistake … we are in the midst of a global war on humanity.
Lynn Cournoyer says
I agree with you Gerry.. If we are unarmed we can’t fight back. This is what our leaders wants.

The only thing I need for my mental heath is a day at the range for group therapy. The tighter the group the better the therapy.

Agreed, Lynn! So many stresses can be dissolved with a little quality time at the shooting range.
Arie Intveld says
Sage advice, Christopher.
For anyone who values their privacy (and potentially their future freedom) avoid ALL gov’t issued apps. And if you feel you must carry your smart device with you 24/7, consider getting a Faraday sleeve/pouch/bag to carry it in. Also be aware of facial recognition being used by gov’t against its own people.
The CCP is now beginning to use AI to comb through the population’s overtly collected data in order to prosecute citizens on the basis of “pre-crime”. If the State determines that your purchase habits, social contacts, political views, medical status, mental state, travel habits, hobbies, etc. are a challenge, disobedience or threat to the State, your social credit score plummets to that of a penniless serf and you will likely be charged/arrested for a “pre-crime” against the State.
Canada is well on its way to prosecution on the basis of “pre-cime”. The majority of Canadians instantly accepted vacx passports and then QR codes. These Canadians have zero qualms about using these tools of control/manipulation just for the “privilege” of going to served inside a restaurant or pub. Yet they don’t realize just how much data is being collected about you, your habits, your social circle, political views or ideology, how readily you comply with State edicts, etc.
I pray every day that people will finally snap out of their stupor ….
