The day I read that Austria made COVID vaccinations mandatory for every citizen I knew it was only a matter of time before Justin Trudeau would find such a dictatorial order too juicy to pass up.
Then, right on cue, Trudeau’s Health Minister floats the trial balloon to gauge the public’s willingness to accept such a draconian order.
“Discussions need to be had about mandatory vaccination,” said Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos.
No, Minister Duclos, if any “discussions need to be had” they should be about the Charter of Rights and Freedoms – the document Trudeau’s Liberal government violates daily.
Until COVID-19 came along, the Charter was the highest law in the land.
The Charter was above the common cold, AIDS, SARS and every other ailment known to mankind. Then a new virus came along (or was manufactured, if you prefer) and the Pandemic of Fear took over.
Common sense lays trampled to death at the feet of unelected bureaucrats who contradict themselves so often nobody can take them seriously.
Weaponizing Fear and Uncertainty

Unfortunately, it’s been an easy formula throughout history—in politics, religion, and business—that if you can keep people afraid, and give them an enemy who is responsible for their fear, you can get people to do just about anything.

In the short term it’s relatively easy for leaders to stir up scarcity and promise to deliver more certainty with easy answers and a common enemy to blame. But in the face of complex problems, that certainty is quite literally impossible to fulfill.

Let the Fear Porn Continue Until Moral Improves
“What we see now is that our health care system in Canada is fragile, our people are tired. And, the only way that we know to get through COVID-19, this variant and any future variant, is through vaccination,” Jean-Yves Duclos told reporters during a federal COVID-19 briefing on Friday.
As Omicron limps into 2022, governments continue to pound the Case Count Mantra to keep that Fear Train rolling into the New Year.
“Case counts are already about 400 per cent higher than the peak of the third wave,” said Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam.
Case counts do not equal sickness no matter how often they’re repeated. But Case counts make sure the Fear Train runs on time. That’s all that matters.
If these politicians and bureaucrats are so concerned about hospital staffing levels, the colossally moronic decision to fire over 10,000 health workers across Canada for the dastardly crime of making a personal health choice should be reversed.
Immediately.
But that colossally moronic decision will not be reversed because they will never admit they screwed up.
If there is a health care crisis, it is one entirely manufactured by the federal and provincial governments who made COVID vaccinations mandatory across the health care system, then fired those health professionals for daring to stand on principle.
But I digress…
“I personally think we will get there at some point – mandatory vaccination,” said Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos.
Duclos stressed this was his “personal opinion.”
Of course he did.
Can’t have this trial balloon launched at an official government press conference and have that balloon be actual government policy, can we?
No, that must wait until internal government polling tells the Liberals whether Canadians will put up with this nonsense.
“It shouldn’t surprise anybody that it’s not a limitless number of federal health care resources that we can bring to bear so our job is to take absolutely everything we can and allocate it in the most effective way to support all of our partners,” said Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos reiterated.
That’s a bizarre statement coming from a government willing to borrow hundreds of billions of dollars and dole them out like Halloween Candy to anyone willing to hold out their hand – like all those gang members in Ontario and Quebec who used CERB handouts to buy illegal guns.
We’re to believe this Liberal government gives a crap about fiscal restraint?
No chance.
Every time they’ve assured us some asinine notion is not on the table, within 60 days it’s official government policy. Their assurance is not worth the paper the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is printed on.
That Minister Jean-Yves Duclos went to such pains to hold a press conference to assure Canadians there is no plan to make COVID vaccination mandatory in Canada means that’s precisely what this government will do.
There are Better Options
There are other alternatives, better alternatives, than the Charter-destroying notions presented by this Liberal government.
Alberta removed the power to force mandatory vaccinations on mere citizens last year, Premier Jason Kenney said on Twitter.
“Alberta’s Legislature removed the power of mandatory vaccination from the Public Health Act last year and will not revisit that decision, period,” he said, then “strongly encouraged those who are eligible” to get vaccinated.
South Africa chose to live with COVID now that Omicron is here.
“The most important issue is that there was a clear decoupling between community spread, which has been very rapid, and the level of hospital admissions,” said Richard Friedland, chief executive of Netcare, South Africa’s biggest provider of private healthcare.
“We have not suspended elective surgeries, and there is no pressure on beds?.?.?.?We have had no capacity constraints at all in the fourth wave.”
Japan refuses to make COVID vaccinations mandatory. In fact, they insist citizens make an informed decision based on all the knowledge and options available.
Although we encourage all citizens to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, it is not compulsory or mandatory. Vaccination will be given only with the consent of the person to be vaccinated after the information provided.
Please get vaccinated of your own decision, understanding both the effectiveness in preventing infectious diseases and the risk of side effects.
No vaccination will be given without consent.
Please do not force anyone in your workplace or those who around you to be vaccinated, and do not discriminate against those who have not been vaccinated.
Japan also issued warnings about myocarditis and other health risks and are committed to documenting all adverse effects of the vaccines.
“Other nations would do well to follow Japan’s lead with this balanced and ethical approach,” wrote The Brownstone Institute.
French President Emmanuel Macron Echoes Canadian Lockdown Madness
USA News freaked out the other day over French President Emmanuel Macron’s declaration that non-vaccinated French people should no longer be considered citizens.
“[Y]ou will no longer be able to go to the restaurant. You will no longer be able to go for a coffee, you will no longer be able to go to the theatre. You will no longer be able to go to the cinema. […] When my freedoms threaten those of others, I become someone irresponsible. Someone irresponsible is not a citizen.”
They obviously missed the news that most of Canada has suffered under these restrictions since last October.
They also missed Justin Trudeau’s French rant in Quebec saying essentially the same thing as Emmanuel Macron.
We all know people who are deciding whether or not they are willing to get vaccinated, and we will do our very best to try to convince them. However, there is still a part of the population (that) is fiercely against it.
They don’t believe in science/progress and are very often misogynistic and racist. It’s a very small group of people, but that doesn’t shy away from the fact that they take up some space.
This leads us, as a leader and as a country, to make a choice: Do we tolerate these people?
“A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian” only applies to terrorists, it seems, not honest, hard-working Canadians who dare make an informed decision about their own health.
For those rebellious souls, Prime Minister Blackface stopped just a millimetre short of saying they are no longer Canadian citizens.
When Will It End?
That’s a question many have asked for the past year or more.
All of this nonsense coming from the federal government as the COVID “pandemic” nears its end, as so eloquently stated by Carson Jerema the other day.
What if we won but we were too scared to admit it?
Two years into this COVID nightmare, governments are still relying on rising case counts to justify closing businesses, shutting schools and trying to regulate what people do in their own homes, despite growing evidence that even though cases are soaring, hospital admissions are not rising at previous rates.
This is what the end looks like.
This is why the framing of the pandemic as a “war” has always been wrong. It was language used to justify intrusions into our daily lives, but it also set up the false idea that the virus would somehow surrender and we would be able to claim victory.
The language of war also serves to justify ongoing assaults on civil liberties because the fight continues ever onward, and the promised return to regular life is always just out of reach.
Even though the new variant still doesn’t quite pass freely among the vaccinated, it passes freely enough to mock any notion that herd immunity or “COVID zero” are actually achievable, or that vaccine mandates are logical policy.
The fact that the spread of the virus hasn’t been blunted further is no justification to continue intruding in peoples’ lives, damaging the economy and the well-being of school children, and delaying other needed medical procedures.
Or maybe all this nonsense is because the COVID “pandemic” nears its end and governments – -federal, provincial and territorial – have enjoyed this Charter-free age where they can do as they please with no accountability or oversight.
Unfortunately for those drunk on this dictatorial power, the mere citizens of Canada (and the world) have had enough.
Grassroots opposition is getting stronger and more organized and effective every day because there is no other choice.
No political party in the land will stand up for us.

But… there aren’t enough police or military to enforce mandatory COVID vaccinations.
Do they expect us to line up at the box cars willingly?

That is not necessarily so. It is more than likely that they know exactly what they are doing and want it that way. They will do everything in their power to enforce it. Remember Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced at a fall 2020 UN meeting that the government of Canada was going to pursue policy objectives in support of “the Great Reset,” an effort to “reimagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality and climate change.”
Which will of course CREATE extreme poverty, inequality, and destroy the economy.

I have to agree with Aires’ comment. Civil unrest is looking like it could happen. Like Christopher says, there isn’t enough police or military to enforce this the jab, then there is not enough to arrest us either. I think this is why they want our firearms. No firearms means no way to defend your family or your property. We have to stop believing the crap that spews from Trudeau’s mouth. When did we all become so complacent?

I’m working on a commentary right now, Lynn, about a group of people who obeyed the government’s demand that they disarm, and now they’re being slaughtered by rebels because the promised government protection never materialized.
Government’s cannot protect individual people, no matter how much they promise otherwise. Nor do governments and their police forces have a DUTY to protect an individual person.
The onus for one’s safety and security is always with the individual. That’s a fundamental truth our society wants to ignore.
