Lovely Ann Warren is the mayor of Rochester, New York. Like all good Democrats, she extolls the virtue of being defenseless against home invaders, rapists and other violent criminals while complaining about the number of “illegal guns on the streets.”
“Getting guns off our streets must be a priority,” said Mayor Warren.
On May 18, 2021, Mayor Warren even announced a gun buy-back program to “take these guns off our streets so our residents can feel safe in their neighborhoods.”
“That’s why I’m glad our police department is partnering with the Attorney General’s Office and our churches to host a gun buy-back event next week.
Then in an odd quirk of fate, just two days after her ‘gun buyback’ announcement, the Rochester Police did exactly what she wanted – they arrested convicted felon Timothy Granison for illegal possession of a firearm and possession of 31 grams of cocaine.
The inconvenient truth is Timothy Granison is Mayor Lovely Ann Warren’s husband and the illegal handgun and drugs were seized from the home he shares with Mayor Warren.
Granison pleaded not guilty to three felonies — two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.
It’s a little rich for Lovely Ann Warren to issue virtue-signalling edicts to Rochester residents when her own husband is one of seven people arrested and charged for being part of a “mid-level drug organization that was infecting the City of Rochester” according to Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley.
And when the mayor of Rochester can’t keep illegal handguns out of her own home, does she really believe she can keep illegal handguns out of the hands of the city’s drug dealers, gangs and other criminals?
“Do as I say, not as I (or my husband) do.”
Lovely Ann Warren probably believes if she just said this long enough and loud enough, people will ignore her hypocrisy.
That should prove interesting, given Lovely Ann Warren is running for her third term as Mayor while facing her own criminal charges for felony campaign finance fraud.
What is it with these politicians? And why do they always believe laws are for someone else to follow, but not them?

Is it any wonder she wanted honest citizens disarmed while her own corruption is protected by a drug using, probably drug dealing, illegal gun owner??

hypocrisy in every corner of the “gun debate”. Not wanting to sound insensitive and off the rails a bit here, I wonder when Wendy Cukier and her love Trudeau are going to start banning the types of automobiles used in the Toronto van attack and yesterday’s slaughter of a Muslim Family [ again, my deepest sympathies]. I remember last year a retired Police Officer made that same analogy statement after the OIC.
Ridiculous to ban certain models of automobiles…Yes. Ridiculous to ban certain models of firearms…?
