Some people are simply too stupid to possess firearms.
I would definitely add 37-year-old Cristian Gutierrez to that category after his asinine negligent discharge shooting spree at 3:54am Friday morning, April 16, 2021.
Bakersfield Police Department officers responded to Panorama Drive near Loma Linda Drive after they received a call about a person prowling outside a residence in the area.
As officers arrived at the scene, the watched in horror as Cristian Gutierrez fired one of his guns wildly into the air and into the ground around him.
It’s a miracle one of those bullets didn’t injure or kill anyone.
In an even more bizarre twist, Bakersfield Police later determined it was Gutierrez who called the police and reported the prowler.
After they disarmed and arrested him, police officers determined Cristian Gutierrez was ‘under the influence of a controlled substance.’
They seized cocaine and four firearms from him at the time of his arrest.
Gutierrez was charged with drug possession while armed, negligent discharge of a firearm and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Jail is probably the safest place for him to be, and hopefully he will receive the help he so clearly and desperately needs.

Hi Christopher, I have always maintained that there is, a ten percent slob factor in every walk of life.
Ten percent give or take, sometimes more, rarely less. No matter the group, police, shop owners, corporate execs, gun owners, hunters, teachers, military, fruit pickers, politicians, (especially politicians these days) and so on, ad infinitum. All seem to have a top ten percent of excellence types, and a bottom ten percent of slobs or idiots. These are the ones that give the rest in a given group a bad name. It would appear that this miscreant is well situated within that bottom ten percent.
The problem of course, is that if any of us belong to a particular group, we get tarred with the same brush as the slobs. However, if people were honest with themselves and their observations on the world around them (they never are) they would easily see themselves as members of the same flawed human subsets that the slobs are paid up members of, and would then understand that just because there are slobs and idiots out there, it is not the majority of that group that cause the problems.
I speak on this as a long time member of the lawful firearms community, but it really makes no difference what community we are referring too. Those in one community rarely see the irony of their flawed observations of others, in other communities. The bias of knowing their own,and being observant of the percentage of slobs in their own community, yet they usually consider the whole other community as a guilty group, because they have no connection to it.
Of note, minister Blair’s badly flawed observation of the firearms community a week or two ago. Paraphrasing here, “Not all members of the gun community are terrorists, but all terrorists are members of the gun community” or some such similar verbal nonsense!
Apologies for the long winded comment, but I get really peeved at being blamed for criminal firearm abuse!

No apology required, Gerry! You make a great point about the top and bottom 10% of any group of people. Sadly, people like Bill Blair aren’t concerned with facts, logic or truth – only pushing his agenda down the throats of Canadians.
