When did Defending Our God-Given Rights Become Unacceptable?

Published January 4, 2021 by Christopher di Armani Filed Under: Common Sense

A recent comment on one of my commentaries about Dr. Bonnie Henry, British Columbia’s High Priestess of COVID, forced me to take some time to think about my approach to defending our God-given rights.

“I like what you are doing about the Firearms issue. but get out of the way of Bonnie and her friends, hundreds are dying. Do you have any solutions? I suspect not!”

This comment highlights (for me) how fear can blind people to certain fundamental truths about those God-given rights.

My decades long defense of civilian firearms ownership is based on two fundamental freedoms: self-defense and property rights.

While I’m pleased the commenter likes what I’m doing on the firearms issue, I’m puzzled this individual doesn’t (or can’t) see the connection between liberty and my dissent over COVID-19 lockdowns.

“…hundreds are dying…”

This is undeniably true. According to the British Columbia government’s COVID-19 Dashboard app, 901 people have died in what is listed as “confirmed deaths” out of a total of 51,990 laboratory diagnosed cases. Put another way, 1.7% of the laboratory diagnosed cases result in death.

While this sucks, it doesn’t put those deaths in context.

According to Statistics BC, the population of British Columbia is 5,071,336.

The confirmed cases of COVID-19 are 0.01025% of BC’s population. Those 901 deaths attributed to COVD-19 are just 0.017% of BC’s population.

Whether a person is willing to admit it or not, this virus simply doesn’t kill very many people and those it does kill are almost all in long-term care homes or individuals with multiple serious health conditions. (send your Hate Mail to hatemail@diarmani.com)

Healthy people who contract the virus are typically asymptomatic, meaning they don’t even know they have COVID.

Setting aside the many issues with the PCR test (as Dr. Anthony Fauci explains in this video) all the fear-mongering about “infection rates” is just that: garbage information designed to keep us living in fear.

Mocking the High Priestess

This brings me to Dr. Bonnie Henry, who I mockingly refer to as “The High Priestess of COVID”.

My multi-faceted attacks on Bonnie Henry are based on four other fundamental freedoms: freedom of thought, religion, association and peaceful assembly.

Reading one of the High Priestess’s public health edicts is like trying to track a superball bouncing around a 10’ x 10’ concrete room.

It’s downright vomit-inducing.

  • Children must go to school and sit in classrooms filled with other students, but are banned from playing with one of those friends in their back yard after school is over.

Apparently COVID-19 can’t enter a school.

Good to know.

  • Walmart is permitted to entertain 911 shoppers at a time but religious services are banned.

Apparently COVID-19 cannot enter Walmart, but it can enter churches, synagogues and mosques.

Good to know.

  • Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12-step programs can meet in church basements but congregations are forbidden from attending worship services in those same churches.

Apparently COVID-19 can’t enter church basements or infect 12-step program attendees but it can enter the main worship rooms of those same churches and infect all those in attendance.

Good to know.

  • You can go to work every day and have coffee with your co-workers but you are not permitted to invite those same co-workers to your home for a drink after work.

Apparently COVID-19 can’t enter your workplaces but it can enter your family home.

Good to know.

  • Bonnie Henry’s rationale for banning all religious worship services was based on a single Sikh temple where “possible COVID-19 exposures” might have happened.
  • Big White Ski Resort had a confirmed outbreak of COVID-19 but The High Priestess of COVID allowed the resort to remain open.

Apparently skiing is an essential service but worship services are not.

Good to know.

In Conclusion

So, to answer the question posed by my website commenter, “Do you have any solutions? I suspect not!”

Sorry to disappoint, sir, but I have several.

  1. Stop listening to the fear-mongering talking heads.
  2. Stop obeying senseless and contradictory edicts from your jurisdiction’s High Priest or High Priestess of COVID.
  3. Start using the brain God gave you to examine the facts for yourself after you abandon your fearfulness.
  4. Start asking your elected representatives at both the provincial and federal level why we’re locking down and quarantining healthy people instead of vigorously protecting long-term care homes and the infirm?
  5. Start asking your provincial and federal elected representatives why we insist on destroying our economy over what is, essentially, a bad flu season?

And finally, instead of vilifying those with whom you disagree because you’re so afraid, why don’t you open your mind to what they have to say and give it some serious thought.

Who knows?

It’s possible your fear level could drop dramatically.

It’s also possible you might come to see the light too.

Both are good things.

    6. Start asking your elected representatives at both the provincial and federal level why they’re suppressing the fact that there are safe, highly effective, empirically proven preventative and treatment protocols and so causing unnecessary suffering and deaths.

“The data is 100% in alignment: Ivermectin blocks COVID pre- and post-exposure. Both as a prophylactic and as a treatment for limiting/reducing the worst of COVID’s symptoms, including death in early and late hospitalization.

Further, one study shows massive benefit to COVID long haulers, those unfortunate people struggling for weeks and months after infection with fatigue, brain fog, racing hearts and other maladies.

With such clear and compelling data, anybody who actually cares about and is responsible for public health has only one option: assuring that Ivermectin is used widely and immediately. Instead, we’ve seeing nothing but an eerie silence from national health managers and the mainstream media on the topic. You have to ask yourself why.

Great advice. Unfortunately those to whom it’s aimed are unlikely to follow your steps; especially 1 and 2. (There’s a reason TV and radio are called, “programming.”)

They are the closed minds who claim they’re open, like that of a friend who emailed me to say..,

“I believe that I am a person with an open mind, willing to absorb, analyse and judge for myself the pros and cons of how our government and most of the free world governments have reacted to the Covid-19 crisis.
Please do not send me any more shit that at all denies or does not defend the actions necessary to eradicate this pandemic.”

With open minds like that it’s no wonder so many have succumbed to the fake narrative.

Please continue attempting to awaken the Remants with your messages.

Hi Christopher. Please keep up the good work. I agree completely with your response to the reader who posted “Do you have any solutions? I suspect not!”

I have all but given up on the sheeple who have abrogated their responsibility to critically think for themselves. Some of them are in my family. Fearful, frightened and too stupid to THINK about what is being spoon-fed to them by the talking heads. Cancer, medical mal-practice, opiod overdoses and any other number of causes of death likely eclipse the covid death numbers. The problem is – we are not given these numbers by the authorities to put things into perspective. This is deliberate because, heaven forbid, it may actually cause people to start thinking.

All this fear mongering over something with a 98% chance of full recovery. This is DELIBERATE and in my opinion, is part of the great “reset” and Agenda 21.

    BTW – 901 deaths out of 51990 = 1.7% and not 17%.

Well said Chris. People should listen to Dr Siegal about the Wuhan Virus.

Having caught the Hong Kong, is the reason I got the 1976 vaccine that made me as sick as the Hong Kong flu.

    https://nypost.com/2020/05/16/why-life-went-on-as-normal-during-the-killer-pandemic-of-1969/

Apparently the ‘mutated strain’ of WuFlu is milder but supposedly more contagious. Dr Siegal explains it quite well: (My fam doc agrees- he has
yet to see a sick case, but has seen several (for other reasons) who had tested positive but did not get sick.)

What amazes me most is how many residents believe every lame word and order Henry makes. They can all spout the number of new daily cases, believing all of the cases are deadly & super contagious. They wear masks outside or driving alone in their cars, and like good little children, follow arrows on shop floors and make a big show of washing their hands. Then they pull down the mask to wipe their noses with forefingers, pull masks back up and carry on shopping. Zero comprehension.
Why Henry issues the orders instead of elected Horgan is pure political theatre. But, it also shows how so many are in need of rules & regs. Believe everything they are told. No self responsibility.

It the same bs over and over again. Some government crack pot telling us what to do. First the government was hired by us to lead the country and provinces. Not lead us down the path covered in their bs.

Tell us the truth, if you can Bonnie. Trying to stop people from gathering with family at this time of year is an indication of how stupid our leaders are. I would bet that the politicians went where they wanted to with out a second thought and we the people paid for it.

I will not be stopped from visiting my family. I have grandchildren that do not understand this Covid and why they can’t gather or be with family. I won’t give up my family just to please some half baked politician.

If my statements offend you, the writer of the comment, too bad. I won’t give up my firearms to the eastern prince of bs either. Gather with your family and take precautions to stay safe.

Beyond the abject fear we’ve all been subjected to since this time last year, I honestly don’t know why, Rob. Fear makes people shut off their ability to think logically and critically about the information they’ve been presented. It simply becomes easier to say “Shut up” than to think through it for themselves.

If anyone can wade through Bonnie Henry’s latest Public Health Order without seeing the glaring and blatant inconsistencies contained within it, they’re willfully blind. There is no other way to describe it.

There it is. All my thoughts and questions, all laid out nicely.

I have so many friends living in fear. Raging everyday. I no longer try to reason with them. They don’t want to hear it. Were they always like that? When I look back on my lifelong friendship with some of them, the answer is “yes.” They followed the crowd. They always see the negative in everything.

My dad had several sayings that I always think about when something becomes a fad, or all the rage. One of which you mentioned the other day. “Monkey see, monkey do, don’t be a monkey.” The other was, “one dog pee, all dog pee, don’t be a dog.” They have served me well. I have never followed the “crowd.”

Thankfully NONE of my family members have fallen in to the “fear” trap. A few even work in Health Care. I have an excellent support base, that listens. We visit each other. We know where they have been and the activities in their life. We take necessary precautions. We are all to the point of, come arrest us. You are not allowed in my home without a warrant. NO ONE gets to tell me who I can and cannot have in my home.

Your articles and musings, are full of just plain old common sense. Much needed in todays chaos.

    Thanks Chris!

Wow, lots of great comments. My favorite three were, Lyle Tremblay, Lynn Cournoyer, and Judy. A great piece Christopher.

For myself, when this all started, I was already suspicious, and my evaluations have been correct, and I fully agree with Lyle on the great reset. This goes way deeper than almost all realize. I could say that I didn’t let this alarm me, but the reality was, it never did because I can think for myself, and apart from wearing a mask when a store requests I do so, no other aspect of my admittedly quiet life, has been affected (Infected?)

Fear is a great motivator, and Trudeau and Dr Henry should be tarred and feathered. I suspect when the numbers for overall death roll in for 2020, it will not show much if any real significance over other years. Yes I think it is real, and there are some that are really suffering, but I still see it as a flu, and think we need herd immunity not economic lock down, and I am in the supposed elder category. When I see idiots wearing a mask while jogging or driving alone, I give my head a shake. You can’t fix stupid I guess, and we have much stupid, and unfortunately have a lot of sheep in Canada.

The thing that worries me is people I know (or rather knew) are forming militias, and threatening to go “Guirilla”.

I fully support fighting back, and standing up for our rights. I don’t think bringing weapons into the picture will help this Country, or the issue.

The problem really is, that when you push people to the edge, and they have nothing to lose, they become very dangerous individuals.

I think this is what the Liberatards in Ottawa are hoping for. It would give them the perfect excuse to declare martial law.

Speaking of martial law, I think the only other time it was declared in Canada was under the senior buffoon sharing the same name with our current leading buffoon.

No need for B-flick wannabe “guerrillas” or blue face-paint “Bravehearts’. Just full-on, wholesale civil disobedience. Overrun and break the enemy by shear throngs of obstinate, relentless, give-no-quarter, normal, cogent Canadians with wholesome values.

What’s the outcome when 20 million Canadians simultaneously file their 2020 tax returns with only info slips, a blank tax return and a note stating “some assembly required” or don’t even file their 2020 tax returns? Would our federal overlords’ heads explode? Does it render the “Gubbermint” impotent/insolvent? After all, the COVID-19 pandemic is about one thing … money and, ultimately, money equals power to oppress.

What are the logistics required to fine/arrest/incarcerate/try/convict 20 million united, pissed-off, defiant Canadians? What does that do to our remand centres, courts and prisons? Never mind the individual arrests/charges/court appearances … overwhelm and crush the entire dystopia by shear numbers.

Spin this KungFlu “hamster wheel” right off of its precarious, wobbling axle. Unite in defiance of arbitrary, soul-sucking horse-pucky. Inundate your municipal councillor, MLA, premier, public health official and MP with letters/emails/phone calls stating that the phuckery starts and ends with them, personally.

But still, just for shits ‘n’ giggles, could someone please tell John Wick that Trudeau/Hajdu/Tam are all complicit in killing his puppy? I’d watch that!

Love your passion, Arie, but I think your numbers are off. About the only thing 20 million Canadians agree on is that Trudeau handing up money is a good thing. The number who oppose the current silliness falls far short. If 20,000 were willing to go there, I think I’d be shocked. Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by all the keyboard warriors out there. When the rubber hits the road they won’t be standing with you, they’ll be cowering under their mama’s skirts.
